Newsome Burt W. Newsome was born in Geneva County, Alabama on September 4, 1966. He was raised in Columbus, Georgia. Burt obtained a B.S. in Finance from Troy University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at Troy, he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Upsilon Sigma honor societies and was also a member of The Lambda Chi Alpha social fraternity and a Senator in the Student Government Association. Burt later attended and graduated from the Birmingham School of Law - a private law college located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. While at BSL, Burt was named the Outstanding Freshman of the Year and graduated with honors in the top 10% of his class.
